Question about upgrading the firmware on W810i

If you want to keep the brand you should use a branded MAIN, not a "generic" one. Tell us what is your brand and we'll tell you if there's an update(or not) for your firmware.

The brand is o2 United Kingdom - Prepay preferably.

I thought you have a branded firmware, like Orange, or Vodafone. But you have a generic MAIN and EUROPE2 FS, which means it's not branded. The network elements(theme, startup image, shutdown image) are given by the customization of the FS with the custom file:

Yes, you have to flash the FS which match with that custom file.

yes you can simply flash the main.......
CAUTION: the main should have same serial as currently installed in your phone....
to check it press.. on stand by screen ->*<-<-*-<-*.........
and then scroll to service info->software info.......
the first line will tell you the current firmware
