    Re: header not accepted error

Just for shits and giggles, at step 4 instead of selecting db2020, I selected pnx5230 and it managed to connect into the phone and managed to flash with:
W380_R10CA001_MAIN_NAM_1_LE_RED53.mbn, which is the one currently on the phone.
When I tried to install custpack:
    W380a_1207-7304_R12A_Fido_Canada
nothing happened. No progress bar, nothing suggesting anything was going on.

The reason I know nothing happened is because the password on the main screen when I boot up the phone is still there.

You should debrand with the latest firmware (MAIN and FS):
    W380_R9BB001_MAIN_GENERIC_LE_RED53
    W380_R9BB001_FS_AMERICA_1_RED53.
As for the customization, double click "ofs" and go to "TPA/preset/custom" directory in the left pannel. Then unpack W380a_1207-7304_R12A_Fido_Canada and copy "customize.xml" from the right pannel to the left

    Re: header not accepted error

Thank you. I believe it has successfully been flashed, and debranded.

However, to my great disappointment the phone lock is still in place. I thought after flashing this thing ,it would revert things back to factory settings.

I know that through the use of SETool or XS++ the phone lock password can be revealed. But since this is now a CID53 device, neither of those programs detect the phone.
I'm not looking for a network unlock (to use on other GSM carriers, I've already got a source for that stuff), just phone unlock. Is that the same as a SIM unlock?
