K770i new firmware R8BA024_RED52!

saw new firmware in the download section for k770i

2 of them a branded (t-mobile and vodafone), the other one is
R8BA024_RED52
whats the different to R8AA018_RED52 ?


I have a branded phone with R8AA018_RED52 Firmware and I can't zoom in using the cybershot-cam! I will get the message "zoom not possible in that mode". only in the video-mode (vga-mode) it is possible to zoom in and out.

I wonder whether this is possible with the new offered firmware?

Well I would say it depend what is the spec on your phone. If your phone should be able to do digital still zoom then the older firmware has bug and may be fixed in later firmware. If it is not listed in the spec then it won't be offer in newer firmware. AFAIK, firmware upgrade in SE phone is strictly for bug fixing and not to offer new functionality. But K770 as cybershoot should be able to do zoom for digital still.

That's exactly the thing! I wonder, why it is not allowed to zoom in and also wrote an email to the SE-Support-Team last week. Just waiting for answer!

Some days before the new firmware

R8BA024_RED52


was uploaded to the download-section. but so far I was not able to find the custom_pack for this firmware.

Will the custom packs be uploaded to the download-section?

I only checked what do you can change and what not :cool: .?

In that case I only copied the flash menü of a walkman-mobile ... the so called musaic_menü ... on the phone directly (sorry I forgot on which walkman mobile this menü is preinstalled, but the name of the menü is enough)! In addition I also installed the STANDBY.swf of the musiac theme! by the way on the pics you can see a mix of the everchanging-theme and the musaic-theme! I used the the everchangig theme and customized the theme.xml. I set the links to the 2 swf files of the musaic theme!

Thats all!:D so, this will not affect the camera of my cybershot mobile, but you will have the nice song description in the standby-mode (like in a walkman-handy)

I can just confirm that the same thing exists in the newest firmware, therefore it's probably not a bug but rather a flaw in it's specifications.

would this firmware ver have bestpic on it? i checked sony website and they state the k770i comes with the bestpic feature

yes of cours it has bestpic, it has all cybershot feautures apart from xenon flash, SE replaced it to a LED

PS. You can't flash k770i to w880i, becouse after flashing it the keys and the camera would't work. I've tried it out ;-)
