    Customise K800i on 3 UK

I'm trying to get my phone back to the 3 customisation, I removed it and now most things won't work such as Windows Live, Google Maps - something to do with the certificate.

I've paid for the download right and have downloaded the 3 customisation pack but when I upload it to the phone, it doesn't work - it only ever shows the generic version. I did wonder if the directory structure of the own_custpack made a difference (I initially dumped all the files in the root of that directory). Does it matter where the files are? I checked the log of XS++ and it seems to put them in the correct location on the phone.

One more thing to make me thing there's something not right is when I flashed the fbn and mbn files and then the 3 custom pack, I would get the configuration error message - when I used a generic pack, it would work fine!

Is this something I'm doing wrong or is there something not right here?

    TIA

    HJ

You have to flash branded firmware files to your phone and then flash the 3 custpack to your phone.

Sorry that was something I meant to say - they were Hutch branded files I used - I was making sure it was all 3 branded, but it still wasn't working correctly...

    Cheers

keep the custom files in the folder FILES_TO_UPLOAD instead of OWN_CUSTOMPACK
and then do FSX with XS++

if it doesnot work, then 3 customfiles that you have are not correct.

I've retried the whole process, going back to doing the flash files then the custom files, and this time it worked - but I changed the process slightly, after having flashed the two files, I then took the battery out and reconnected then did the custom file upload - and this time it's worked like a charm!

Believe it or not ... all this to get rid of the stupid 3 banner at the bottom of the screen, I did an update, which removed the option to take it off (after I'd disabled it), but after a master reset, it came back, but this time without the option on the phone - 3 told me I'd have to take it 40 miles away to be sorted, after a bit of messing over the past 2 days, this has sorted it and I'm back in business!

Cheers for all your help guys.

When I flash, I usually do MAIN + FS (or just FS alone), then I start the phone with a SIM card inserted. If it gives me CONFIGURATION ERROR message, then I know it flashed the phone ok, only thing I have to do right is upload customization.
So after customization is uploaded then I start the phone again, if it does not work properly I try with other custom file, but at this point I do not flash any FS or MAIN anymore to the phone.
Happy to hear that it worked.
    Cheers!

Have you tried using SEUS update? This will put the phone back to branded firmware, But it will also update the CID to 52

Yeah I had that idea, customise the Three software and fine tune it - I'd love to be able to turn off the constant connection to the three network, it KILLS the battery so quickly!

Will have a look and may post any custom packs for other members.
