Ebay is full of SE fake accessories... There were a lot of HPM82 fake headphones too... My advice is to use ONLY original Sony Ericsson batteries. They won't make any trouble.

+1 the fleabay batteries will always give issues.

I've bought batteries off ebay twice.

First time was for my Motorola v300 way back years ago... teh new battery never charged past 70% and it dies in about 4 hours STANDBY

Second was for my W810i (second battery as a backup). Once again never charged full and it died fast.... bottom line is i think SE and phone companies put a lot of tech into their batteries these days and the china knock off's just cant keep up. The batteries look and fit like they should, but they just dont have the perfect specs.

My 810i battery still lasts me about 5+ days on a single charge with moderate use. One of the best features of the phone!

Yeh that's what I thought, eBay is full of fake SE items. But from another thread they said it was as good as the original. Is this true?

The only good counterfeit ones are the ones that you can test on the spot prior to purchase... carefully check and be certain of the product prior to making a purchase. This concept applies to any SE accessories you plan on buying. Dont fall for the Ebay trick unless the seller has very good ratings over the things he/she sells. Would you simply trust a website's words of authenticity rather than have the thing on your hands to test/check/feel/compare? It's your call.

I watched 'Watchdog' a while ago on BBC and they said an this can be easily overcome. And that even powersellers can sell fake goods.

    Sad but true.
You're always at a risk whenever you deal with money virtually online... the best recommendation is to find a dealer at your local store and buy it only after you're satisfied with it (besides you can always return back to them and complain) and the low-down is, you're gonna have to deal with it should something you purchase online doesn't work as you expect it to be.
