Ive got a current post atm about debranding, but tbh what does it do, and the whole flashing thing? why do you have to download these in able to do certain things?

Well its optional debranding. In Europe if you buy a phone from Vodafone the phone contains there themes, wallpapers, logos and everything in the software. All Debranding does is simply remove it and put the default Sony Ericsson logos and originals back on.

And the "whole flashing thing" is flash the firmwire to update the firmwire or to debrand.

You need a GENERIC firmwire on the phone to patch.

and XS++ 3.1 Guide-Flashing, Customizing, Recovering - Top Sony Forums and after you connect your phone with XS++ post log from XS here without IMEI number so we can guide you

what ever you do with the phone, rememember to back up your GDFS BEFORE you do any flashing. cause incase anything goes wrong we can still save you if you have that back up. good luck
