W850 won t flash erom

when I connect my phone with xs++ it says :
Connected phone w850 (DB2020 CID 52)
OTP CID: 51
EROM CID: 52
so, is my CID 52 or 51?

Your phone is CID52 and you use this files for flashing:
MAIN: W850_R1JE001_MAIN_VODAFONE_CY_RED52 and YES that MAIN you will find in download section - firmware - W850 CID52

I tried to flash the main and FS( W850_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_CY_RED52.mbn and W850_R1KG001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED52.fbn) but with xs++ it doesn't go further than the first step :
"Sending db2020_cid01_prodid_p3j.bin..."
(I tried to wait about 20 minutes)

so I tried with SE Tool 2 Lite, it seems to flash without problems but when I turn my phone on it's still blinking... and when I connect it with XS++ the firmware version line still says R1JE001.

I tried to flash the main with SE tool using the same firmware that's in my phone from the beginning (W850_R1EJ001_MAIN_VODAFONE_CY_RED52.mbn)
but when I turn the phone on the white blinking screen is still there.

is there something else I can try?

hey! i had the same problem. infact, it seems there are alot of people with this problem so it seems like it is a batch or desing fault with the w850i. i have tried to make a complaint with sony ericsson already...and what do you expect....no response.


anyway, firstly does your phone still operate sometime except you cant see anything or is it dead with a white screen? also check if the power button blink red when you try and turn the phone on.
but try flashing your phone from a clean scratch. that would be restoring your GDFS, new erom, main and fs file also. if that runs smoothly and you encounter no errors but you still get the white screen, it probably means you need to replace the top key pad. this i learnt from my friend "philsfog"...his the bomb.
