I used to have a sony ericcson with virgin and loved it, it broke so I bought a payg with vodafone and was shocked to find the menus were completely different and even the buttons had different functions, I hate the vodafone interface.

Someone suggested I can go back to the phones original settings.

Can you please point me in the right direction, I am computer savvy but haven't done an awful lots with mobiles. Do I have to 'debrand' it?

yep, DEBRAND as it will make your phone a Retail version one
