Newbie who has a little knowledge and is nervous but also doesn't want to pay !!t

Hi all,

As the subject line says I have a w660 on 3 (unlocked but with the awful 3 firmware). I am using it until I can upgrade my phone having dropped my K850i in the fishpond ( it doesn't take underwater photos!!!!).

I need an idiotproof guide (or someone I can pay (?) to do it for me) but being a tight*rse I don't wanna pay £10+ to do it.

I just want a firmware that would be as per an unbranded phone in Britain.

first, what language package do you prefer, well it's important when to choose fs for your phone

Been playing so far downloaded XS++ and W660_R6AD001_MAIN_GENERIC_FY_RED52.mbn

But then wondered whether that was the main or fs file AND what the h*ll they are anyway LOL.

I just want the phone free of the 3 rubbish, in english, and usable!!

Gone and done it. flashed the main all seems ok......

BUT...the dreaded "planet 3" bits are still all over the phone. Where can I find a customization file and how do I apply it as xs++ doesn't seem to have customisation for the W660i

Thanks, I have downloaded the files and flashed the main and fs BUT I did the custpack bit wrong!!

Where do you find the XS++ folder to put the tpa folder in? I have searched the PC and cannot find any folders for XS++ (??)

I am stuffed now as phone is showing config errror!!

Rescued it by doing an update via SE (I was at work so had no access to the back up previously done).

I would still like to get rid of the 3 rubbish on it though, so any help greatfully received on last post.
