I have a K800i and love it but it has a 3.2MP camera. Is there anything I can do to increase this to 5MP?

You can't modify the resolution of K800i 3.2MP Cyber-Shot camera, because this is the maximum hardware specification of this device.
You can only chose from three settings already preseted in you device: 1MP, 2MP or 3MP.
Do not try to do something foolish, by trying to change the display driver because you'll get into trouble and may void your mobile phone guarantee.

I think, the quality from k800 is enough... and the camerachip is only for 3,2 MP ;)

I was just trying to help Charlie001 because he's about to do something out of the ordinary, trying to play with fire.
The point is like this: you can only use the original firmware and filesystem together with the cust-pack coresponding to your phone, and not trying to change something that works just for the sake of trying.

I didn't realise the mp's were limited by a chipset but thought they could be modified by software changes. Anyway, been thinking about upgrade to the K850 as I really do like the feel of the K800, and I see the 850 has a touch sensitive 'joystick'.

You intend to view the photos made by your phone on a TV set, it doesn't matter very much the resolution as long as they are between 640x460 and 720x576. If you want to view pictures at a higher resolution you need a DHTV set and a true HD-DVD player, because standard TV and DVD sets display the image on standard resolution witch is not bigger that 720x576.Quote:

if using other cam driver the light balance in movei become damage but i RETOUCH in this cam driver and solved it

i`ve a prob using my camera my k800 hangs when i use the cam i have changed the firmware:confused,drivers but still im facing the same prob plz help...
Flash original MAIN FS and CDA again. And make sure that you flash the phone correctly using XS++ or SETool2 Lite.Quote:

thanks 4 the reply from a month no one is helping me i have used lots of forums ,i have done this with XS++ 3.1 now my firmware is R1KG001 previous one was R1GB001 just dun get it when ever i use cam it hangs on cyber shot page and even i can,t use video call nor facewrap

If you want to change something to your phone you can play a little with some audio drivers, change some fonts, but I think Sony Ericsson know very well what they are doing and you don't really need to change anything as long as it works well.
And the most important thing is to read some threads and make your homework properly before you decide to change something in the phone files system. I think you already know that any change made in the phone's software will void the warranty.

Mobile phones are not HI-FI audio-video components capable of very loud noise and high quality video playback, because this king of capabilities require lots of processing power in terms of processor, speakers and display resolution. i was happy with my k800 newa changed any thing but this prob just started after GPRS downloads it hanged and when i restarted i was having this problem and i have a Sony Hi-Fi GN100D and Samsung LA46N81 FULL HDTV ...

it's impossible to change 3.2mpx to 5mpx.. but u can mod cam driver to make it better.. sry about my English.. ^^
k850 pics are worse than those ok 810/800i.don't know y, but it's how things stand.that goes for the n95, too.So just a higher resolution doesn't mean better, automatically!!Just tick to 2.93/2/9 for driver, and u'll be fine.
