some Kxxx series can be converted to thier compatible Wxxx version...
and it is the only way to have walkman player on K series...
for k810 it is not possible for now....
What about K510? Can it changed into W-series?

What is the equivalent of the Walkman Player on the Kxxx serie ?
I think that best kXXX series phone for modding is k750i -> w800i. Works perfect. There is also much useful patches available for that modification.
Also k310 to w200 this is quite easy and patches for this are also there i liked my new w310 hehehe
Oh, camera doesn't work? So bad. K510 has 1.3 MP, if it doesn't used, it's so boring!! By the way, is there any patch to fix the bluetooth system?
Except conversion to walkman phone's firmware, you can change the skin of the media player on the Kseries. Anyway, changing the walkman source code (the whole walkman application) requires combining two or more firmwares, which is not possible yet.

Nokia n73 ME is a great music phone as well as an amazing camera...
with new N series phones.. nokia will beat SE... if SE makes two different line ups like Cybershot and Walkman..

k800 cant be flashed with something better from W series?
But anyways W series are realy lame at pictures (not at taking them) very unpleasefull to browse through pictures taked it can be realy slow on that i tried it on a w800i and the walkman think i dont think is so important only that megabass it sucks that isnt ported on K series. Now u can install a better mp3 player on K series as well the KD-Player works great!

I think That too dom but ive flashed my K610i to W660i and i have to lose my camera drivers for it to work proper but i gain walkman 2, flash menus, and thats about it and i belive walkman sorts music better
the sound produced from a walkman player isnt different in any ways.
its just like a normal player with.... uhmm MEGABASS(useless), album art, and a better skinning.
but seriously, why would you even want a nice and pretty skin. its not like u look at the skin when listening to the music.
And about the megabass effect, its possible to get that deep bass in any kxxx series.

I am also want to have a walkman on my k810
The things we want in our K-Series are MEGABASS, Album Art, TrackID (in some K-Series aren't available yet), and Flash Menu.
Any solution with these problem without converting to W-Series?

i have a k550i converted to w610i... no bugs except the active lens cover is not working you have to activate the camera manually... basically we modify are phone so that we can have the walkman2.0, flash menus, etc... maybe because we bought the wrong phone... i should have bought the w610... that is i think why we modify our phone... about the topic, YES we can have walkman on k series phones... but take note when we modify we lose some original phone features...

K series takes pictures and handles them better then any W series
W series have better looking walkman player (kd-player can replace it very well in design and functionality with the playlist/s and stuff) and the megabass but i understand it can be ported somehow on K series as well.
my choice is and will be K series =)
My Brother has W-series and i have K-series , but he say that my is better in all.

in last time sony ericsson had always a new firmware for k800 but now? R1KG001 is the last firmware who sony ericsson had relased... will be a new firmware in the next time or is this improbable? then i think a new firmware would be good for the phone

with all this cross-flashing K and W series you end up with shitty phones. how stupid is that?
the ONLY and ONLY exception to this, which SE WILL NEVER MAKE AGAIN, were K750 and W800 phones.
- if you want a SUPERBASS go buy a walkman.

The walkman thing is just a gimmick ,infact it's annoying because some of the bad songs on it that come stock can't be deleted. Just find a symbian mediaplayer
