What sofware version ?
Connect to XS++ v3.1 and post log here, because R6BC002 is there the two options CID52 and CID53 version. For patch is important version of CID. Addresses in the patch are different in different versions of the CID.

senter,
I'm just about to apply your patch.
I will need a bit of guidance to do the patching process:
I've just managed to backup GDFS using XS++ (just in the case something goes wrong...)
1) will this kind of patch disable any of the phone functions (my SIM-free phone...)
2) in the case I do have to use the GDFS_BACKUP.bin file to restore, will it go back exactly to how it was or should I store data stuff like pix, recordings, mp3 - in a safe place ?
3) finally, I created the patch file in notepad. If I ever want to reverse just the patch - need I just write the specific bits like so :
;undo remove voicerecorder beeps
+44140000
019561C0: 00 1E
019561DC: 00 14
00F10C61: E0 D2
00F10CA5: E0 D1
just reverse them or is there another way to undo a patch ??
edit: I've just noticed in one of your 2007 posts, that XS++ v3.1 can only patch cid49... is that true?
what sw would be best choice for my purpose of patching K530 CID52? (SETool?)
and how to undo patches?
thx for your great help so far, senter.

Removing patch is the same procedure, but you choose:
YES -> Remove patch
NO -> Apply patch
i tried setool2lite v1.11 to patch and got some error (see picture http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...patcherror.jpg)
You forget to Bypass db2020 security !!!
Flash only Main (with XS or Setool no matter).
After flashing on Main make this:

Part1
http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/7387/63693058.jpg
Part2
http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/2371/30207655.jpg
Part3
http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/7163/52616111.jpg
After finish with part3 you must remove USB cable from phone, reinsert battery and press button READY on Setool:

Again connect phone:

http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/3967/33676770.jpg
Here you choose YES to Remove patch or NO to Apply patch:

After your choice just wait Setool to finish (Quit button is active when finish).
It's working !!!
THANK YOU my friend, you've been very helpful
senter = TOP guy !
HI again senter,
Is there a way you (or I) can write a patch for the same phone to listen to radio without headphones ?
Will it work at all ?
Thank you again for the quick reply,
your patch works great and is very useful !
Keep up the good work.
still on the same topic of recording, is there a vkp patch, alteration or a recommended software add-on to make it automatically record any call (in and out) ?
Can I apply the same Record Beep Patch to a SE k530 with:
Firmware Version: R8BB001
EROM CID: 52
EROM Color: Red
Thanks for this thread. It's very helpful!
it didn't work :(
After choosing "No" to apply the vkp file, i get a message that says:
I click yes and the process continues, applies the patch and then finishes, but the beep still can be heard and the phone is sim blocked again.Code:Some patch values differs. continue?
My Setool log is exactly equal than that of your example up to the point at which it asks whether to remove or apply the patch. From that point my Setool log looks like this:
Could you hekp me out please?Code:Starting to process VKP patch script: .... (this one doesnt differ)
VKP script loaded OK. Lines: 11
Patch structure created OK. Determining blocks to read...
New block #0000 added: $45A80000
New block #0001 added: $45040000
Blocks selected OK. Reading Blocks: 2
Blocks read to memory OK. Checking contents...
Blocks patched OK. Start writing...
Block 0 written
Block 1 written
VKP script executed OK
Elapsed: 706 secs.
Thanks
P.D: I also tried the vkp patch for firmware R6BC002. It doesn't work either.
Thanks for your reply.
I found that the possible cause of the "Some patch values differs. continue?"message was the fact that the vkp patch path was too long and with spaces...
So i tried again from a correct path and I dont get that message anymore, but the patch still fails. Here is the last part of the log (notice the error at the end):
If I could install R6BC002, I would do it, but i cant find that firmware anymore. I only find some encrypted .bin files that can't be used by setool. So thats why i need a patch for R8BB001Code:....
CURRENT FLASH FILE CID:52
SSW uses complete hash, hash len is:9200
Will flash 460 blocks...
SSW loading returns:0
Going to execute VKP script....
Enable alternative security bypass !!!

VKP script loaded OK. Lines: 11
Patch structure created OK. Determining blocks to read...
New block #0000 added: $45A80000
New block #0001 added: $45040000

did you check "Bypass db2020 security" in SETool ?
Hi, thanks for the suggestion ElectroKid.
I believe I have followed the steps correctly. In fact I have flashed my phone over 15 times just trying to get this working.
Still getting "Some patch values differs. continue?" message if applying Record Beep patch after having applied the unlocking patch. Seems patches dont like each other:a005
Next thing to try: permanent patching with Omnius, CodePawn CXC Patcher, as they allow applying 2 patches at the same time...
@ElectroKid: had you applied an unlocking patch before applying that Record Beep patch?
Have you tried to call yourself to check if the beep can be heard when you start recording?
I need to know this actually works before getting even more crazy at it :D
Maybe the patch code varies for different types of firmwares. Mine is not the generic one, so I upload it just in case. K530_R8BB001_MAIN_CN_NC_RED52.mbn
(Although i tried with a generic R6BC002 Cid52 with no success either)
My gf has a SE z610i, with firmare R1KH001 cid52. I would love to try on that phone also. maybe it's easier
@nongeekyone
Following is what I did with my K530 (in this order):
1) I've first created a quick-access patch: drag your MAIN file (.mbn) onto [SETool2 Lite v1.11 folder]\qamaker\qamaker.exe.
put generated .VKP in MISC EDIT of setool2 lite software.
check ONLY "bypass db2020 security"
add to firmware area %your_firmare_version.ssw%
press FLASH
(note: read further details in the qamaker folder and at the forum...process should take ~10minutes to complete)
-you do this once and from now on you can quickly apply whatever patches you find for that phone (no need to use firmware again)
-just check only the option: Use "quick access" patch in SETool (LITE edition 1.11)
2) applied the 'remove SIM-Lock' patch
3) 'Beep' patch -- I know it works cos I don't hear the beep/s anymore
4) 'radio w/o headset' patch
for 2,3,4 you put the .vkp file in MISC and press Write SCRIPT (not FLASH!).
*Make sure you remove the battery when asked to and you'll be fine.
Thanks for that thorough and explanatory reply.
I was following that steps. After applying the QuickAccess patch, if i apply the simlock patch, then I will get the "Some patch values differs. continue?" message and it wont work, if i only apply the Record Beep patch, I dont get the message but still can hear the beep at the recording start.
Gonna try more with R6BC002
@ElectroKid: It is great that you confirmed that it works. Now, whether it works here or this phone will run outa flashing live times and die
@Senter: For some reason I did not see your last reply until now.
I have always tried your second patch (for R8BB001) to work with that firmware..
Does your question mean that the R8BB001 patch will not work with that specific R8BB001 firmware I uploaded?
Must admit that i am getting quite frustrated not getting this to work.
I'd like to try luck with a SE z610 with firmware R1KH001 RED52. Could you please provide the patch?
Thanks again
I port patch for Generic version, I asked which version you want to be for K530?
Z610 R1KH001 RED52 are several versions:
Z610_R1KH001_MAIN_CHINA_MY_RED52
Z610_R1KH001_MAIN_GENERIC_2_MY_RED52
Z610_R1KH001_MAIN_GENERIC_MY_RED52
Z610_R1KH001_MAIN_HUTCHISON_MY_RED52
Z610_R1KH001_MAIN_TAIWAN_MY_RED52
Z610_R1KH001_MAIN_YOIGO_MY_RED52
Tell me exactly what version is your Z610 R1KH001 CID52 ?
wow, so the patch depends on the version of the firmware file... that explains why it didnt work on this phone.
the z610i firmware is the first listed one. Z610_R1KH001_MAIN_CHINA_MY_RED52
cant wait to try it
Thanx Senter
bump
possible to patch?
nah. it didnt work
Decided to spend some money and get a n900.
Thanks for your help
