Re: K530 patch to remove Recording Beep

    it didn't work :(

After choosing "No" to apply the vkp file, i get a message that says:

    Code:
     Some patch values differs. continue?
I click yes and the process continues, applies the patch and then finishes, but the beep still can be heard and the phone is sim blocked again.

My Setool log is exactly equal than that of your example up to the point at which it asks whether to remove or apply the patch. From that point my Setool log looks like this:

    Code:
Starting to process VKP patch script: .... (this one doesnt differ)
VKP script loaded OK. Lines: 11
Patch structure created OK. Determining blocks to read...
    New block #0000 added: $45A80000
    New block #0001 added: $45040000
Blocks selected OK. Reading Blocks: 2
Blocks read to memory OK. Checking contents...
    Blocks patched OK. Start writing...
    Block 0 written
    Block 1 written
    VKP script executed OK
    Elapsed: 706 secs.
Could you hekp me out please?
    Thanks

P.D: I also tried the vkp patch for firmware R6BC002. It doesn't work either.

You have conflict another patch, flash only Main - then try again only with this patch!

Re: K530 patch to remove Recording Beep

    Thanks for your reply.

I found that the possible cause of the "Some patch values differs. continue?"message was the fact that the vkp patch path was too long and with spaces...

So i tried again from a correct path and I dont get that message anymore, but the patch still fails. Here is the last part of the log (notice the error at the end):

    Code:
    ....
    CURRENT FLASH FILE CID:52
SSW uses complete hash, hash len is:9200
    Will flash 460 blocks...
    SSW loading returns:0
    Going to execute VKP script....
    Enable alternative security bypass !!!
Starting to process VKP patch script: E:\patch.vkp
VKP script loaded OK. Lines: 11
Patch structure created OK. Determining blocks to read...
    New block #0000 added: $45A80000
    New block #0001 added: $45040000
Blocks selected OK. Reading blocks: 2
Block @ $45A80000 read error. Have only: 00000000 bytes
    Elapsed:295 secs.
If I could install R6BC002, I would do it, but i cant find that firmware anymore. I only find some encrypted .bin files that can't be used by setool. So thats why i need a patch for R8BB001

Re: K530 patch to remove Recording Beep

Hi, thanks for the suggestion ElectroKid.

I believe I have followed the steps correctly. In fact I have flashed my phone over 15 times just trying to get this working.

Still getting "Some patch values differs. continue?" message if applying Record Beep patch after having applied the unlocking patch. Seems patches dont like each other

Next thing to try: permanent patching with Omnius, CodePawn CXC Patcher, as they allow applying 2 patches at the same time...

@ElectroKid: had you applied an unlocking patch before applying that Record Beep patch?
Have you tried to call yourself to check if the beep can be heard when you start recording?
I need to know this actually works before getting even more crazy at it :D

Maybe the patch code varies for different types of firmwares. Mine is not the generic one, so I upload it just in case. K530_R8BB001_MAIN_CN_NC_RED52.mbn
(Although i tried with a generic R6BC002 Cid52 with no success either)

My gf has a SE z610i, with firmare R1KH001 cid52. I would love to try on that phone also. maybe it's easier

Re: K530 patch to remove Recording Beep

    @nongeekyone

Following is what I did with my K530 (in this order):

    1) I've first created a quick-access patch: drag your MAIN file (.mbn) onto [SETool2 Lite v1.11 folder]\qamaker\qamaker.exe.
put generated .VKP in MISC EDIT of setool2 lite software.
    check ONLY "bypass db2020 security"
    add to firmware area %your_firmare_version.ssw%
    press FLASH
(note: read further details in the qamaker folder and at the forum...process should take ~10minutes to complete)

-you do this once and from now on you can quickly apply whatever patches you find for that phone (no need to use firmware again)
-just check only the option: Use "quick access" patch in SETool (LITE edition 1.11)

    2) applied the 'remove SIM-Lock' patch
    3) 'Beep' patch -- I know it works cos I don't hear the beep/s anymore
    4) 'radio w/o headset' patch

for 2,3,4 you put the .vkp file in MISC and press Write SCRIPT (not FLASH!).

*Make sure you remove the battery when asked to and you'll be fine.

Now you want "Remove voicerecoreder" beep for K530_R8BB001_MAIN_CN_NC_RED52.mbn version?

Re: K530 patch to remove Recording Beep

Thanks for that thorough and explanatory reply.

I was following that steps. After applying the QuickAccess patch, if i apply the simlock patch, then I will get the "Some patch values differs. continue?" message and it wont work, if i only apply the Record Beep patch, I dont get the message but still can hear the beep at the recording start.

    Gonna try more with R6BC002

@ElectroKid: It is great that you confirmed that it works. Now, whether it works here or this phone will run outa flashing live times and die

Re: K530 patch to remove Recording Beep

@Senter: For some reason I did not see your last reply until now.
I have always tried your second patch (for R8BB001) to work with that firmware..
Does your question mean that the R8BB001 patch will not work with that specific R8BB001 firmware I uploaded?

Must admit that i am getting quite frustrated not getting this to work.
I'd like to try luck with a SE z610 with firmware R1KH001 RED52. Could you please provide the patch?

    Thanks again
