Unlock W880i DB2020 CID53
Hello All, (help needed in the UK)
I have a W880i that is locked to T-mobile network which I would like to use with the 3 network.
I purchased a unlock code on the internet and was sent some software and instructions which did not work, I complained and got a full refund. After locating this website I found this was due to cid53.
I have been reading/serching and located the below

I'm not sure what files I neede i.e. main, fs, custpack :confused:
If I post a log can someone point me in the correct direction please?
Would it be worth debranding the device and sticking the network 3 gubbings on so I can use all the features

OK I have gone ahead and done the 1st part and started the Patching process but can't make rest file using the MAIN?
Just to confirm these are files I used

use these files :

W880_R8BE001_FS_EUROPE_4_RED53
HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_13_R8A_GENERIC_EUROPE_4
just drag you main firmware over the mkrest2.exe, you need to go to "C:\Documents and Settings\user" folder to get the rest file, move the rest file to the rest folder of jdflasher

Hi am in the same boat as jedi0, trying to unlock w880i cid53. I have used simox's SIM-lock patch generator version 2.2 and it is successfully creating the .vkp file however when i go to flash phone using SETool2 lite v1.11 i get following responses:
a) With "Bypass DB2020 security" box and "use "quick access" patch" boxes ticked i get

Mrs got fed up, so took it to the local market and a chap with laptop unlocked it in a few mins and only charged £5

Hi! Thanks for your instructions on unlocking w880, i have followed all the steps but cant get past the EXECUTOR part the phone keeps giving me a error when i try to run it.

Hi there,
After many tutorials and searching the websites to unlock my w880i CID53 phone - I finally found a way to do it and would like to share!
This method also unlocks CID52 phones by using the SEUS update service to upgrade (also installs the USB drivers for you).
Firstly you must remove your network custom pack by replacing it with a generic custom pack.
Use this tutorial to do so: Flash K800 CID53 with K810 software CID53 (for begginers) - Esato archive
Then you can create a remove lock patch using simox v2.2 (http://www.*******.com/forum/attachm...chgen_v2.2.rar) following this tutorial: Free Unlock Sony Ericsson Phone | SE Flashing
Now to use this you need to install 3 files and then apply the unlock patch using this tutorial: Patching CID53 (DB2020)DB2010,2012 - Top Sony Forums
Note: After you applied/copied the rest and qamaker accross, copy the unlock patch accross at the same too and now you're phone is debranded AND unlocked!
