Hi there, same problem as above. My w610i is orange branded and displays 'No network coverage'. I'm trying to use it in Vodafone NZ but won't work. It very very rarely picks up signals. I would like to flash it using generic main and fs hoping it will help pickup vodafone's network here. Below is log of phone:

Any suggestion on how to do it? or will it help make it work? I guess it's been flashed before but not really sure.
Your reply will be greatly appreciated =)

Use these files:
W610_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_NA_RED52
W610_R8BA024_FS_CENT_EUROPE_RED52
HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_207_R2A_GENERIC_CENT_EUROPE
For EROM CID53 must use these files:
W610_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_NA_RED53
W610_R8BA024_FS_CENT_EUROPE_RED53
HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_207_R2A_GENERIC_CENT_EUROPE

thanks for the reply. It is CID53. I'm still having problems with far, it comes up with certain errors (can't find device info in xml...).
There's lots of tuts on which program to use and some of them are detected as virus.
I guess my question is which is the best and tried tutorial to follow? CID53 is giving me a hard time and I can't even get 'far' with far :(
Cheers!

Read here how to flash CID53 phone: http://www.topsony.com/forum/far-manager-f31/flash-k800-cid53-k810-software-cid53-begginers-t11605.html#post89845 and use files from my previous post here.
Re: w610i R6BC002 cid 53 flashing problem
Hi there, I've managed to successfully flash phone. Unfortunately, when I turned it on, it says "Insert correct SIM card". I'm using vodafone NZ and sim was inside during flashing, did it matter? Appreciate your help.
Thanks!

Hi there, i'm trying to follow tut you've posted above. However, I just can't understand the first couple of steps below. Pardon me for being a pain, I do appreciate you helping out newbies like me. thanks again.
HTML Code:
Let's start patching some phone:
1. With your MAIN make rest files with mkrest2 (you find him in /Far/Plugins/jdflasher/rest/mkrest2)
2. With same MAIN create QA patch with qamaker from Setool2lite
I found the mkrest2 but nothing happens when i click on it. I must be missing somethin here.
Cheers.

For debranding use this Main: W610_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_NA_RED53
For Vodafone version use this: W610_R1JE001_MAIN_GENERIC_NA_RED53
Re: w610i R6BC002 cid 53 flashing problem
Well Im tryin to unlock my fone and i do have mains, but thanks for the above anyway. What I can't follow are the specific steps below.
1. With your MAIN make rest files with mkrest2 (you find him in /Far/Plugins/jdflasher/rest/mkrest2)
2. With same MAIN create QA patch with qamaker from Setool2lite"
I'm stuck with first step as I can't make rest files. When I double click on mkrest2 nothing happens. Do I use far in making rest files?
thanks again.
Re: w610i R6BC002 cid 53 flashing problem
Hi there, I read this whole thread and saw same problem as I have. My W610 says it doesn't have network coverage. It's also CID53 so if anybody knows what it may be please reply me...

no need to make rest file....... just directly flash the .mbn and then .vkp patch then .fbn file...

If I hadn't uploaded custom pack it wouldn't even start. In that case it usually says something like "configuration error". My W610 starts, but it'a got no network (no network coverage). Is it possible that it's got some kind of a hardware failure?

You need to make rest file in order to unlock a DB2020 CID53 phone. In fact it's the step1 from "Anycid" tutorial. "It is always good to be careful when you give advice because someone actually might take it".
