The blinking red light is caused by two problems:
1. The battery is completely discharged. You need to recharge it with other phone(because your phone cannot do that right now). Or put another SE phone's battery to your phone. No need to be the same model. If the battery can be put to your phone then it is okay, and it will work...
2. The EROM is damaged. In this case check this tutorial: REPAIRING EROM GUIDES for most sonyericsson phones

I tried the guide, but the W880i still remains locked and branded (as told by SEtool 2 Lite) but it seems to accept the new sim card and I can't come into the phone and it tells that there are faults in the configuration, contact bla bla ... I'll try to flash it again

Hi,i'm having trouble unlocking my w850i originally it was branded t-mobile now its debranded and i flashed it with W850_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_CY_RED52.mbn and with the W850_R1KG001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED52.fbn made patch using qamaker it all works till the very end this is whats happened and when i put sim in it says insert correct sim

You should connect your phone to xs++ 3.1 and copy here your phones log ( without IMEI number ) or you should at least tell us , what is your phone , that we can help you.Quote:

Yes you can unlock that phone. But first you need to upgrade the EROM CID to 52. How to do: connect the phone to XS++ v3.1, and when XS++ ask you if you want to upgrade the CID, press the YES button. After that unlock the phone following the DB2020 CID52 unlocking guide...Quote:

Maybe got the problem just cant get round it.i've now tried to write script using generated patch for unlocking it comes up with trying to load bootloader and doesnt respond just goes into time elapsed.can this be a problem that i'm able to identify phone and read but cant apply anything it just doesnt go any further than trying to load and fone turns on to file transfer.here's the outcome

If you are sure that you followed the tutorial step by step, and you haven't forgot to tick one of the checkboxes for example, then reflash the MAIN firmware(but only the MAIN) and start again the whole unlocking procedure.
It you still get this error, then apply the patches with jdflasher...
did as you said flashed main with xs then went thru process of unlocking with setool switched fone on after it finished it came up with configuration error contact your network support here is my outcome of setool

Yesterday I started debranding my unlocked (at a local mobile shop) k610i. First I upgraded the CID from 51 to 52, this didn't lock the phone, but after debranding it it was locked again, which I thought it would be. So I used your tool to create a patch and it worked excellent. Thanks a lot!!!

for some reason i can't view the attachment for the CID49 tutorial. i just get a blank page when i click on the attachment =/ how do i fix this?
maybe know someone is new version of xs++ for phones with cid53 ?? ( i have t650i cid 53 )
For now xs++ doesn`t support cid 53 phones, only JDFlasher and KulanKendi does - but only flashing and nothing else. For unlocking there are no free solution for cid 53 phones.

nvm I downloaded SETool2 lite from torrent and it worked cause I guess the one that I had earlier didn't have the right plugin or something who knows it's a mistery I rather not find out cause it might take forever. :P

Do you see a red blinking light near the infra port? Maybe the EROM is damaged. To repair it, follow the REPAIRING EROM GUIDES for most sonyericsson phones.
I tried to unlock my sony ericcson W580i using your guide but came up with a few errors. I took some screen shots so you can have a better idea of what happened.
Not really sure what went wrong, so am hoping someone will let me know.

Have you installed the USB Flash Driver from [SETool2 Lite v1.11folder]\drivers\USBFlash_driver\ folder? If not then install it: remove the cable from phone, right click on ggsemc.inf and choose Install.
If this will not solve the problem, use jdflasher instead of SETool2 Lite.
I did install the USBFlash_driver. But what I noticed is that when I press the "C" key and connect the cable the phone goes into the usb data transfer mode and windows brings up the window to view the files and folders on the phone. Is that surpose to happen?Quote:
