Help! which firmware should I use for language change. I confused.

Hi Can anyone can tell me am I found right set of firmware for K850i, I like change the language in Chinese to let my father use it. but I very confused :confused: because I found a lot so similar. I don't know what different they are

How you flash your k850i? XS++ don't support this platform (db3150)!! Nothing for free...

I just want to say that all the three files are indeed.
But there no free software that can flash k850 now.Maybe you should try KK-client.

That mean I can't do it by myself? I did flashed my Pink w580i in Chinese by myself with SEtool lite. I thought every SE phones should be same.:(
:p I don't think my father will use my w580i. So I might try the KK-client.

In case you're wondering, the differences for chinese firmwares for Sony Ericsson phones is where if you have Hong Kong MAIN/FS your chinese input will be limited to strokes method and pinyin. If you have Taiwan MAIN/FS installed then your input will be strokes and "bopomofo" Taiwanese input.

So be sure to check what type of input he might use. But other than that Taiwan/HongKong all use Traditional Chinese. If you install CHINA MAIN/FS then you will have to deal with simplified Chinese.

So for me I can deal with both HongKong/Taiwan because I grew up reading Traditional Chinese. Simplified is bearable for me but I prefer the other type.

There is no *free* tool for flashing K850i, yet.

Also Taiwanese version firmware has a larger collection of odd characters compared to HK version, so you will not encounter little boxes when reading some webpage or SMS.
