so far it does work good for me, it does support CID53 flashing and GDFS backup.
However, FSX has not been coded yet so you can't put in flash menus :(.
I do use jdflasher+FAR to access the FS and put in menus and stuff.You can give that a try.

i have connected and flashed 2 of my phones in linux and everything went smoothly, and afaik there has been no reports of dead phones yet.However, it is a beta and you do have to use it at your own risk.
