The only reason for mentioning Open Source was thinking of speeding up development.
I do understand your point about them succeeding in being the only developers to product free software for modding SE phones though it's all opinion and perspective.
The Mozilla team are well known for creating excellent software for free and many people are able to support them and their work with a more hands on approach.
In saying that they may have stronger reasons for not releasing XS++ Open Source. Security is always a good reason to only release binary versions of software. Also other peoples malicious intent coupled with responsibility for the modding community.
I can understand both points of view.
I would like to see open source mobile flashing software in development in the future.
