    am trying to do step 2 of the unlocking

    III. We will apply the generated unlock patch to unlock the phone.
    With SETool2 Lite v1.11:
    1. Click on Clear button.
    2. Select your phone model.
    3. Tick Use "quick access" patch checkbox
    4. Uncheck(remove the tick from) Bypass DB2020 security checkbox.
    5. Click on ... (three dots) button near MISC files box, and select the vkp file generated by SIMLockPatchGen.
    6. Click Write SCRIPT button
    7. Follow the instructions in left status window...
    8. READ THIS CAREFULLY, it is a little tricky: When a dialog pop-up, click "Yes" to remove the patch. Click "No" to add the patch. In this case click on "No" button.

    Did you use the quamaker program to CREATE the Quick Access Patch first then patch it to your phone? There's no point in checking the "Use Quick Access Patch" if the quick access isn't in the phone.

    Do the unlock with only the generated unlock patch .you dont need to apply Quick Access Patch if you are not planing to do more patching on the phone.

    Enter the key sequence

    >*<<*<*

    Service Info -> SIM Lock

    Look closely and all the little padlocks should be open

    Guys, if I remember reading correctly. David has an W580i locked to AT&T just like I do. I believe the guide works... my phone thinks its unlocked, after using Simox's guide, but still will not recognize a T-Mobile sim card. I appreciate the hard work he did on the program & guide, but have tried the method with a few different firmwares, and no dice. All padlocks open, and phone works fine, other than that it's still locked to AT&T.
