    w880i Network lock removal

Ive read many forums on this subject and seem to have gotten really confused.

Can anyone tell me how i go about removing the network lock from an 880i - currently locked to t-mobile. Im not interested in removing logo's / adding software just the netlock removal.

Ive downloaded SETool and "read GDFS" and confirmed it is a 'CID 51' (whatever that is)

thanks in advance for any help......

First you need change CID from 51 to 52. After this you will need using SIMLockPatchGen_v2.1 for unlock your phone

After doing this : http://www.4shared.com/account/file/...ess_patch.html, you can easy use any patch(including simlock patch). Just check "quick access patch" button, choose your phone type, put the .vkp patch to "MISC files" and hit "Write SCRIPT".

When you say after changing to CID52 i can then use unlock patch.... Do you mean i can just press the "unlock" button on the top right hand side of SE??

Sorry for the basic questions, SE unlocking is a whole new ball game to me....

    Thanks again.

No you will have to have:

    1. The right Firmware to the patch (So if u have lets say R8BC004 you need the patch for R8BC004)
    2. If you have the right Firmware put the Patch in MISC Files and Press WRITE Script.
    3. After you have done that you need to Press NO when a popup comes.

THIS ONLY WORKS IF YOU HAVE INSTALLED THE QA PATCH ON YOUR PHONE. IF NOT THEN INSTALL IT. THERE SHOULD BE ENOUGH TUTORIALS.

Ok im starting to get it now but one more thing....

When i add my phone to SETool im a bit lost....

'In Windows Explorer drag the MAIN file (.mbn) onto SETool2 Lite v1.11 folder\qamaker\qamaker.exe. In the qamaker's folder you will get a quick_access_XXXX_XXXXXXX.vkp file.'

that main .mbn file where do i get that from? << i think i found them in the dowloads section on this site but how to know which one i need??
