    Unlocking W580i

I have de-branded W580i and now it is working very well. I do have an internet, text messages, almost everything, except MMS but I don't mind. I am still using T-Mobile and I am happy.

But, my daughter has also Sony Ericsson W580i. I have tried to de-brand the phone and it did not work. This is what happened. I followed every single step in the guide and did it in the same way as the first phone. I have used Wotan. When the process finished and tried to turn on the phone, I have received message "Phone Lock Code" and all of the problems started at this point. Then my daughter told me that she used the security to create a code, which at the time she did not remember, and I think this caused the problems. If she told me before I started the process and to unlock the phone with lock code, I believe we won't experience the problems after the de-branding. I have used XS++++ to reset the phone lock code and it was done well but the application gave me 0000 codes, which I entered into the phone. Then asked me for the SIM, I put T-Mobile SIM card and then message "Please insert the correct SIM card" I removed and inserted few times T-Mobile SIM but I still receiving the same message over and over again. Then I did remember that I have the AT&T SIM (pre-paid) and I inserted it and the phone accepted the AT&T SIM. Now, what this means? The phone is locked again by the AT&T? Originally, I bought the phone unlocked and my conclusions are from what I did many times the phone doesn't except other providers SIMs but it accepts AT&T SIM so, it is locked again. What I need to do in order my phone to work again with other providers SIMs cards? I have paid twice for Wotan de-branding process. So, I did de-brand/ flash twice the phone. Do I have any other options? We called Sony Ericsson and they want we to send the phone and they to fix it. I believe it has very simple solution to this problem but I am not expert regarding cell phones.

Which phone lock code I need? I don't know what to do. Can somebody help me with this? And, which provider now to call AT&T or T-Mobile? So, I insert AT&T SIM - work (the phone has service) and I insert T-Mobile SIM - doesn't work (message: Please insert the correct SIM). Any help, advices, suggestions, I would appreciate. Please help with something??????? Thank you in advance.

I am new at this, but I believe you have hijacked my thread instead of starting one of your own.
Oh well, what can I do!

I was about to flash the unlock vkp file to my phone and I read the posts again and I think I was about to mess up.
do I flash to unlock the sim card first or do I flash the generic firmware first and then the unlock sim card patch?
I don't have download priviledges yet and I want to use the americas-2 firmware, not the Asia one floating around.
Can I just unlock the sim and continue to use the at&t firmware for now?
I hope these are not too many questions.
    Thanks
