I'm having the same problem here after "reinstalling" my windows XP. The drivers are all messed up now. I used to be able to connect fine before.

2 and 3 below were done to remove previously installed (but failed) driver

    2. removed ggsemc.sys from windows/system32 and similar directories
    3. removed 2 .inf files that both contain ggsemc.sys , and the 2 corresponding .PNF files
(my problem may be that there are 2 .inf files for the same driver... but who knows)

    4. started up device manager
    5. connected phone with 'c' key depressed, 'Sonyericsson USB Flash' showed up in device manager, with a yellow exclamation mark. Double-clicked it and then "update driver"

That did it. I tried the driver clean-up steps several times before reading this thread, and it didn't work. So I do think the infcache.1 file is the key.

commando , maybe you want to try cleaning up the drivers and try what I did. Good luck.
    Dear Friend,

I also have the same problem after reparing windows XP and tried the steps you discribed but after in the device manager trying to change driver first it asked to point to the new driver and selecting it in de map where i have the USB Flasdriver it come with the same error like the other people.

By the way in my flash driver map are to submaps with drivers amd64 and X86 wich one i have to take for my amd 64 X2 pc?

Hope there is another way to resolve this problem without installing windows clean.

    Regard's

    Ronald

    Hey Folks,

Finnaly i have a solution for the error problem.

First y cleaned in windows save mode all files related to sony ericcson including a lot of pnf files wich you can find having a Sony Ericsson model number in the file name.
Also all gg*.sys and gg*.inf files and the infcache.1 file

Second y installed the Gordon's Gate Flash driver.

Finally i connected the phone after having the battery take out normally and when asking for the driver point to C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Gordons Gate map and select it and then it installs the right driver.

Hopefully it works for everyone !!!!!

    Succes

    Ronald

I think the key for success is to *thoroughly* remove all traces of the driver files on your PC before you attempt to install the driver.
