Unlock S500i

I have an S500i locked to the virgin network. I have tried to use the Setool V1.1 to unlock it but i cant even get past the first identification stage.

I have two sony phones one s500i and one Z550i. I have plugged both in, both while being turned off and the program still doesnt pick up that a phone has been installed.

Am i missing some drivers or something? I downloaded the setool proggie with the video instructions.

Its really frustrating me at the moment. I have no idea why it wont recognise the phones.

Windows detects them but the program does not.

The battery is in the phone and the sim is inserted. (does the sim need to be in the phone??)

i use setool 3.
If you have one on these follow these pics.

You may need the falsh files:
S500_R8BA024_MAIN_CHINA_LY_RED52.mbn
+ S500_R8BA024_FS_APAC_RED52.fbn

Perhaps if your using another tool you may need to boot the phone while holding the c button or the number 2?
Please don't quote me on this as I haven't done it before threw normal sony cable, I use a data box.

Phone still cannot be detected. Even after the USB changes. I am at an ends as to why its still refuses to show up on the software detection.

I havent tried XS++ because i have no idea what that is. I will look into it tonight.

Anyone know someone who can unlock it for me for under $50 in Melbourne?
