    Question W580i 4GB M2 Card Help

I just got a Brand new SD 4GB memory stick for my w580i and when i insert the card it tells me "memory stick not inserted"
I've searched the forum with no success as to what can be causing this.
I have tested the memory stick in my Cyber-shot camera with the M2 adapter and it works fine, i even re flashed and debranded my phone thinking it may be some lock AT&T may have put in the phone to prevent memory sticks larger then 2GBbut, still nothing. It reads the memory stick that came with the phone
I got the card because i read in this forum that the w580i accepts up to 8GB of external memory.

Any help will be much appreciated thanks

Yep on the SE website it says the W580i accepts up to 4GB memory stick size. AM unsure why yours done work. Try taking it out and slowly inserting it, or format it on a PC first.

    Memory Stick compatibility chart

W580 M2 Up to 4GB , but it supports more.

Then is something wrong with your phone. Take it to service center.

    Nice day

@prwingman insert M2 in cardreader or other device and format:

    Then insert in phone and:

    Menu > Files manager > More > Memory status > Memory Stick > More > Format M.S.

Thanks to all who posted, it turned out to be a defective phone for some reason the phone didn't want to read anything over 1GB
Got a new one from Radioshack and the M2 card is working perfectly. :D
