did you install the usb drivers for the phone? install SEUS start it, connect the phone and let it do the job, when it gets to ask you if you want to upgrade or it says you have the latest firmware close and disconnect. then start SeTool press Identify press and hold C while connecting the cable. look in that identification, you can see if your phone is CID 49 or 50. you also need to know if the patch is for your firmware. please post the log.
