Z550i: Works fine, but flashing doesn't work

    Hi guys! :)

i'm new here and first of all: dont worry about my weird english ;)

i've got a problem with my moms Z550i.
it has the old buggy release-firmware (R6BA033) on it (with sound bugs in java, "operation failed" when i try to open videos and pictures sometimes and so on..)

well.. the phone itself works great, but when i try to update it (with SEUS or XS++.. doesn't matter) it simply does.. err... nothing when i connect the USB Cable while pressing the C button

it seems just plain dead. windows doesn't find new hardware (and doesn't play the "usb device connected-sound") and nothing happens :(

the fastport connector itself is working. i can charge the battery as usual and when i connect the DCU-60 while the phone is powered on, it asks for this "file transfer or phone mode" thingy.. so i assume the contacts of the connector do work.

well.. i've got a similar problem with a water-damaged K750.. it doesnt do anything at all when i try to connect it to flash it too. (the phone itself is working.. i just want to update the firmware because the firmware that is on it now is the oldest available (R1A044)).

    i'm running out of options

    any ideas?!

Most important is remove and reinsert the battery full charged before connect the usb cable. Try other usb port in motherboard directly. If you dont detect new hardware check if usb-flash driver are already installed. Check in "Device Manager" list... Try to uninstall.

well... i knew that i forgot to mention something

the driver is not the problem (works fine with my W810 & D750 @ W800)
i tested it on every USB port... just nothing happens :( (edit: with the z550)

and for the battery... it's not my first SE to flash ;)
i already flashed like... 30 phones or so..

but those 2 (Z550 & K750) just drive me crazy

    nothing works :(
    and i don't know why ..

    well.. i can't :(

    the Z550i has a design-failure...
when you close the phone the display always hits the microphone. and this Z550i already had a broken mic when i bought it. so i replaced it by myself. and because of that there's no warranty anymore... :(

well.. i think there's some hardware damage causing the flash-function not to work.
i don't know why but what else could that be except a hardware-failure..?!

i tried it on 3 different pcs.. always the same.. nothing happens.
and on all 3 pcs it works when i connect my W810 or my D750 @ W800.
so i guess the Z550 has some kind of hardware failure making it impossible to update the firmware or doing something else that needs the flash-interface..

if someone here has a suggestion what to do to fix that or has the same problems.. feel free to post a comment here..

i'm giving up for now.. =/
