w580i R8BA024 radio & illumination bug

Anyone using the same phone with the same firmware noticed there's a weird sound coming from the phone everytime you slide it open or close after using and turning off the radio function? I can only get rid of that annoying sound after I switched the phone off and then back on.

And my buggy phone also comes with the infamous illumination bug which resets the lights to green colour everytime the walkman function is used. Wouldn't mind so much if it's blue or some other colour......but green looks...ugly....:mad:

Hmm. Never Encountered People With Such Problem Before. However Try Reflashing XS++ 3.1 Guide-Flashing,Customizing,Recovering - Top Sony Forums And Use The Latest Avalaible Firmware.
Regarding Your Light Query , It's an issue with branded phones and un-branded phones with the latest R8BA024 firmware. You could back flash to R6BC002 firmware.

Yes - happens to me at times ... but not every time I use the radio! And sometimes it just goes away.

I upgraded to R8BE001 firmware - have not seen it yet - but again - it did not happen all the time!

The radio bug happens consistently for mine......

Yea, try reflashing. R8BA024 has the light bug, R6BC002 does not. The newest firmware R8BE001 still has the bug as well to a degree, atleast that was my experience when I flashed it.

Sony Ericsson forgot this. I think that nobody tell to them about this problem.

Haha, it's funny how sth that seems so insignificant can bother so many ppl so much.....it drives me nuts everytime I use the walkman feature.

My question is, if I only flash with this file:
W580_R8BE001_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52.mbn , will I lose my original phone language and writing language? What languages does the generic firmware come with? This is the only firmware I could find as I don't have enough download privileges here yet to get other firmwares.

The phone language and writing languages are contained in the custpack as far as I know. The Generic firmware doesn't have anything to do with the language, but more the branding and stuff like that
