Total SE Noob Unlocking w580i

Hi I was a Motorola man and I became sick of their crap phones, now I want to try out Sony Ericsson because of their great reputation.

I bought a supposedly unlocked w580i phone on ebay but it came locked, at&t branded.

I insert my chip, enter the SIM code and then it greets me with a "Insert correct SmartChip" message and that's it for my SE experience so far.

Can anyone point towards some help on how to unlock and start enjoying this phone?

(BTW, can I use the w580 FW with my w580i?)

Thanks to erverybody, now I am using my unlocked phone to great satisfaction, I'm very happy with it: great signal, great GUI, everything rocks!
