w850i resistant to unlock, displays "Inactive SIM."

So far, I've tried flashing it using XS++, SeTool Lite and FAR with Simox' patchgenerator. I've flashed MAIN, FS and rewritten the GDFS to no avail; no matter how I combine, I end up at "Inactive SIM" after entering the PIN, when the phone has finished searching. I've had the IMEI-register checked, and there are no remarks. I've also tried multiple SIMs, but no change, so problem appears to be in phone. I bought it over Ebay, locked to Three. Any ideas?

No way to use any other THREE USIM. Only work the three-usim originaly included in the retail box. You must wait 12 months to use other three-network sim.
If you already patched the phone with "Simox patcht" ypu can use other network sim (Vodafone... etc..)

Sounds a real shame 3 are notorious for doing stuff like that. Ive unlocked two w850's using the .vkp patch method.

When patching with Simox' patch, both SETool and FAR-manager reports success. Nevertheless, phone displays "Inactive SIM." I'm in Norway, on a different network and provider than the phone originally was. Naturally, I've tried different providers' SIMs. I have no Three SIM. Under "SIM Lock" the phone states it is completely unlocked, e.g. five unlocked padlocks.

It maybe stole?? In this case the IMEI maybe blacklisted and any access blocked by all provider...

Just to say i unlocked a w880i (locked to t-mobile) today and with an orange sim card in it, it displays 'inactive sim' but with a vodafone or o2 it works. There must be something the patch generator is overlooking. Maybe a few more values need to be changed? Correct me if i sound stupid. Please.

If it comes to it you can always ask 3 for an unlock code

Well, Three tells me to contact the guy who sold me the phone for him to authorize them to unlock it. And then, I'm still supposed to have a Three SIM-card in the phone, which I don't have. And even then, it my reluctance to bend to the phone company's will and not do with my phone as I please.

Perhaps you have a point. From their history, it seems Orange and Three are a little tricky about unlocking.

i think the patch is not fully compactible with your phone or should i say firmware... if you go through the threads you may see post of people saying they successfuly unlock their phone with this say patch. every time i read a post i get confuse, one says it works the other says no.
