    download operation failed

i have a w580i from AT&T. And i tried to download Yahoo Go 2.0, i always get the operation failed error. The file size for the Java app was about 600k, and I made sure that I have many MB in phone memory and also a 4GB memory stick! I was able to download Google Maps app, which is about 100k.

    anyone has the same problem?

how do i do that? i can't hit the download link from my PC, Yahoo detect it's not a mobile phone and it won't give me the java app.

With the built-in browser on the phone, i dont see any .jad file or anything like that...just the link to down the app.

I also tried w/ opera mini to download that app, but it told me to use the built-in browser so they can detect my device.

Or download it from where ever you found it on the computer then link your cell to the computer, drag and drop then open it to install

Yahoo! Go. The best Internet experience for your phone. Period.

Or type this URL into your phone's browser:

    get.go.yahoo.com

    Smile

I had the same issue and I was going nuts... I found some solutions on various forums and they were all about security certificates and how to manually edit them. Too complicated.

If you are trying to install new stuff on your phone, there is a good chance you just got your new phone or you just flashed it, modded it and whatnot. There is also a good chance that you skipped the initial welcome wizard which, among others, lets you set the time/date on your phone. If so, any security certificate will be expired as far as your phone is concerned, thus "Operation Failed" or similar issues become plentiful.

Set your correct date/time and try again. My date was 01/01/1999 before I updated it. Everything works like a charm now.
