Ok, downgraded to the R8BA firmware and checked battery useage.

Bluetooth on, light useage, brightness at 60%. Battery went from 100% to 90% in just over 4 hours, which is the same consumption rate that I saw under R8BE. I am going to give it a few more days and then I will take a crack at an R6 firmware. Like I said before, this SEEMS like a higher consumption that the R7 (at&t branded) firmware, but I am trying to test this and control all the variables.

Your phone has oddly high consumption.

You may want to charge your battery to full and until battery runs out, then charge to full again.

Re: New Firmware for W580, R8BE001

You are correct, this is unusual.

I was able to restore some of it by a full discharge cycle. It began to occur after an extended FM radio session through the phone speaker in the garage. I don't know if the battery got hot and freaked out or what.

So it seems like my firmware battery consumption issue is moot, and not tied to the firmware upgrade.
