So, any idea on what is updated with this version?
Btw, what is the light bug?

This is the light bug: HowardForums: Your Mobile Phone Community & Resource - w580i Light Effects
It seems to only effect branded phones, R8BA024 firmware, and with my personal experience, R8BE001 firmware as well.
Basically its annoying bug in which the side lights on the w580i revert back to greenish-yellow (supposed to be orange) whenever you access the walkman player. The side lights are supposed to be controlled by the theme and/or the application you are using. Ok fine, so the lights turn greenish when you access walkman player. I can live with that. They are supposed to return, however, to the theme side light color. They don't but instead remain greenish until you re-apply the theme. This is the bug :(
EDIT: I flashed both R8BE001 MAIN and FS. It is possible something got screwie, i'll try to flash again and see if bug is fixed.
It makes me wonder though, what feedback (if any) do the SE software engineers create the firmware updates? I wish I could talk to one on the phone!!

Maybe the engineers don't know about this bug. Or maybe the bug could be fixed with a simple patch, so they havn't bothered fixing it.
That is highly unlikely though.
I really wish they'd fix this bug...I wouldn't mind so much if Sony didn't let the color blind program their "orange" side lights for this phone. I can't stand that green though. There is no theme that can make it work with the black and actual orange on the phone.
Can anyone else confirm light bug is fixed if you exit Walkman by pressing the back button?
ANyway, it means that the new firmware doesn't have anything new, right?
Definitely no fixes for anything interesting. There may have been an improvement in USB transfer speed but it needs more testing. I actually flashed the MAIN back to R6B - it seems more stable - while leaving the FS at R8BA (never found R8BE001 for america_1 to try) - works great so far. The issue with the MIC not working at times when answering a call - which happened rarely in R8BA, has been happening near constantly with the new one.
Well there's always the extreme... you could diff the firmwares and dissassemble the result :P
Maybe it have real orange light.
