I am going to give it a few more days and then I will take a crack at an R6 firmware. Like I said before, this SEEMS like a higher consumption that the R7 (at&t branded) firmware, but I am trying to test this and control all the variables.

Your phone has oddly high consumption.

You may want to charge your battery to full and until battery runs out, then charge to full again.

The only 2 negatives I have noticed are:

    1) the volume slider during standby yields phone status now (known issue)
    2) phone now seems to chew up the battery much faster

The "screen saver" is not active, and I have been running the same bluetooth acc the whole time.

I may back off to R6 as well, to see if this clears up.
What file did you use for your MAIN when you flashed to R8BE001, the W580_R8BE001_MAIN_NAM_1_LA_RED52 or W580_R8BE001_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52?

I used the MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52. I have tried both the MAIN_GENERIC for both the R8BE001 and the R8BA024.

EVen if there would be a new one I would stay with R8BA024, it has the most patches untill now (R6 has a loot too), and most importantly: IT HAS ELFS! :D

There is no light bug on my w580i. I have R8BE001. I wounder what the problem is that makes it work and not work for other people.

You are correct, this is unusual.

I was able to restore some of it by a full discharge cycle. It began to occur after an extended FM radio session through the phone speaker in the garage. I don't know if the battery got hot and freaked out or what.

So it seems like my firmware battery consumption issue is moot, and not tied to the firmware upgrade.
