i can't say much about nokia, i've never own one, but the SE sets i have are very good. the one thing i see with SE sets is the security feature. a few pathces are out there for some of the SE sets but the patches still hav bugs. nonetheless, i'm quite ok with the SE set (w810i) i'm using now

IMO nokia sets are better build, by that I mean more durable and strong. I used to kick around my 3200 all day long :D however, SW wise SE phones are way better, much better, more customizable and easier to use.All in all ill go with a SE...........

From my experience,SE phones have a good construction...I have never experienced a problem....

But in some models(like K850i),there are a lot of software problems which are unacceptable for a top-model like this....

I dislike nokia because my first (and last) nokia phone - the 8210 - started to run down in its menus, even calling when keylock was on and finally it burnt itself down  an inside element -not the battery- exploded and burnt the MoBo and the back of the battery. -of course a few months after the guarantee date... Do they put clocks in those things?
In all fairness i do have to admit that my phones don't have a relaxed life: sun and hot weather, cold temps down to -20 degrees Celsius, moisture by rain, beachsand,...
Switched to SE T300... ugly, veeeeeery slooooooow - texting on this thing was hellish - but robust and fair standby time. Put out of service after about 2years+ when standby dropped to somewhat of 2days.
Switched to Siemens and i still adore them. M65 & M75: survival kit with phone capacity. Nothing can stand up to these beasts... except for standby time, witch was really sad on both :(
Siemens & Benq quit making phones, so here i'm back @ SE, quite happilly using an w710 but always having to pay attention not to demolish the phone during outdoor activities...

Point of View on user friendlyness: Nokia wins here by far for low end users. SE's structure is more accessible, with nokia you run down the menus until you finally find the thing you were looking for ... But i still remain Siemens fan even if their menus werent logic at all

I don't like NOKIA phones because they have too complicated menus, but I like N95. :D

I feel that more and more often phones get released, that don't ave a bug-free software yet. It seems that buyers are expected to update their phones as the firmware on new models still has many bugs. In the past, when it was rather unusual to update the firmware of a mobile phone, the developers didn't release phones that still had a buggy firmware.

Re: Reliability: Nokia Vs Sony Ericsson

i think if you compare the two company's phones, that Nokia are slightly more durable and can withstand a lot of abuse. SE seem to always have joystick problems, my K800i has already nearly lost the down control after about 2 months of (general) usage. Nokia also seem to have more stable firmware. still, i think SE phones are better for user friendliness and customization, and if SE would would do stricter hardware and software tests, SE would be the ultimate phone company.

Re: Reliability: Nokia Vs Sony Ericsson

i have only owned 2 sony phones the first was i think called T610 or something like that, the joystick gone faulty on that one & now i own the W850i which is the best phone i have owned so far,i have only had it for 2 weeks now so i hope it doesn't go faulty because i play games on it (i dont usually use mobiles for gaming),this phone is only let down by its very weak camera (really horrible) to take pics & movie clips. the nokia's on the other hand are solid quality phones i have owned about 6 of them & none have gone faulty, the software is basic but the phones have the worst design.i'm gonna stick with sony from now on.
