W580i Language Change help!

Hi there

I am a noob here..... did some search but didnt really find the answer...

Just got a W580i (debrand) and the phone only got simplified chinese.....

From the posts looks like I need to "flash" the phone...but where do I find the software needed and where are the files that I need to "flash" with? :confused:

Right, i have a question that is abit like this. I have flashed my phone with W580_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52 and W580_R6BC002_FS_EUROPE_3_RED52 now my question is, is there a possibility to put the menu things in Dutch?? Because now i can only set them in English. But when i put on dictionary when typing a text message, i can type in Dutch. Am i missing something or what?

which one do I need? :confused:

It's your choice which one you want. You will also need the custom pack which is HONG KONG that contains the language.

When I flashed my phone I chose the same firmwire as the one already on the except not generic and hong kong instead.

sorry for another noob question: where do i get the custom pack? Does it comes with xs++ 3.1? :D

@kickin8 its completely up to you, R8BA024 is just the newer firmware, so i would probobly recomend going with that, but its your choice. in either case, just make sure that if you use r8ba024 for the main, the fs must be r8ba024 as well (and the same applies to r6bc002)

Firmware has two parts:
1. FS: It contains languages, images, sounds, animations, settings, etc. Anything that isn't pure software.
2. Main: It contains the software.

If you want Russian you should flash you phone with
K850_R1CA037_MAIN_GENERIC_SO_RED52
K850_R1CA037_FS_RUSSIA_RED52
As customfile you could use K850i_1203-8132_R11A_GENERIC_RUSSIA

There isn't any K850_RIDA038 version with Russian. Maybe it will appear in the future.
