    Ciphering comes when two service providers share the same network. They do that to keep costs down in low density areas. Ciphering codes the bandwidth so that it may not interfere with the other service providers.

    That means, you are in a non secure internet page, as on the PC. Don't send passwords, don't make money transfers or so in such cases...

    That is because you using a very old SIM card whereas the phone software is new which requires ciphering. You should use another SIM card and this error won`t come.

    Nice day

    As far ass I know (I am employed at a mobile company :p) this error is only caused by the network, so it will probably pop out no matte what handset you are using...

    As jasmin said, changing your sim card might really do the trick... I really don't know witch exactly is your case, but most phone companies give you the option of changing your sim card (usually free, under some conditions) and keep your phone number, additional offers and so on... Try calling customer service, they are sure to tell you more about that...

    :) best of luck

    Call the service provider mate! tell them about the error msg and if they say ur phones's faulty (ur talking to a dumb customer services person) just ask him/her to send out a new sim with same number or simply get the PAC code and ask him/her to transfer to another spare sim u have at home (must be of same service provider).

    Use this settings:
    customize_upgrade.xml
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <customization>
    <mmi>
    <settings>
    <home-network-specific>
    <allow-ciphering-indication>false</allow-ciphering-indication>
    </home-network-specific>
    </settings>
    </mmi>
    </customization>
    This setting remove message "Ciphering not provided by operator. Insecure Connection"
