Alright, this is my last resort, I hope I might be able to get some help here.]
Ok, I know I'm new here...but bear with me. I've had my k790a (From Rogers) for about 4 months now. I de-branded it using Wotanserver in about the first month that I had my phone (mostly for mp3-related things). 2 days ago, I wanted to transfer some music onto my cell phone. I never had problems connecting my cell phone to my computer before this. I hooked it up via the USB, and selected "file transfer", as I always do. My phone screen went white, then black. This usually happened...but then went on to a "connection established" screen, as I call it. This connection established screen did not show up this time, and my computer did not detect my phone. The memory at least (64meg (cell) or my 4gb M2), that usually shows up on my screen and asks how I want to open it, did not appear. I unhooked the phone, and figured I would try again...After I unplugged it from the computer, the phone was off, or frozen - I couldn't tell (I did not turn it off before I unplugged it). I had to re-insert the battery before the Power button worked tho. Once I tried to turn it on, it loaded up the SonyEricsson screen, and hung there...indefinitely. The phone doesn't even turn on now. This morning I left it on the "Sony Ericsson logo" start up screen where it was freezing, and then it turned off after about 15 minutes, and now I can't even get to the logo. I tried to use SEUS to update software, but my phone software was already updated and nothing was done...I went through the troubleshooting on their website, but it did not help. I tried using XS++ to update my phone, but the file never ends up transfering (Yes, I am using the correct files, and doing properly, as specified in the following guide: XS++ 3.1 Guide-Flashing,Customizing,Recovering - Top Sony Forums

That's what I get. It stays on there indefinitely (I've waited for 30 minutes now) I don't want to press stop, as my phone may be damaged if I do.
I called their service...and they said to mail in the phone. This is what I will end up doing, but first I want to try every possibility that I can to fix it myself before sending it away.
Please help me, I'm on the verge of smashing this phone against the wall. I have no idea what to do.
PS: I of course, read about the different possible things that could have caused it, and I come to the conclusion that it might be my EROM that's fried or w/e you wanna call it, but I need a second opinion.
