What exactly is lost by flashing the FS?

    Hi,
As far as I know (if I'm wrong let me know), flashing the MAIN won't make us lose anything, but on the other hand, flashing the FS will, correct?

So, I just want to know exactly that is lost after flashing the FS again? Apps? Games? Contacts? Themes? Anything else? None of the things I said? What, I just want to know everything that it's lost by flashing the FS just so I can be prepared in the future.

    Firmware has two parts:
    1. FS: It contains languages, images, sounds, animations, settings, etc. Anything that isn't pure software.
    2. Main: It contains the software.

    Nice day

When You Do Following, You Dont Lose Your Data.
    1. Flashing Your Main.
    2. Updating Via SEUS.
    3. Uploading Files Like CamDrivers, Acoiustics etc
    4. Upgrading Your CID Which You Asked.
    5. Changing Your CDA-Customization.

YOU WILL ONLY LOSE DATA WHEN YOU FLASH YOUR ENTIRE FS.

    Sorry Nazgulled For Misunderstanding Question

So, you're saying that when I flash the FS (forget the MAIN for now) I'll loose any language, images, sounds, animations and settings I've changed and installed? I also would like to know what that "etc" means, I want to know what to backup before flashing the FS just so I don't loose my stuff.

But the stuff that we will lost flashing the FS is just the files that are stored in the phone's internal memory only right?

    @mohdumer
    I didn't ask any of that... :S

basically if you flash your FS, it will return it to its factory defaults. So how the phone came brand new, thats what your phone will be like after you flash your FS. You'll loose everything that you've put on. All the settings, everything. Your going to need to resetup your mms and internet settings if you use that stuff (which can be done automatically from on the SE website), along with the given date and time. Also, every file that you put on it (sounds, movies, music, pictures, even themes) will get errased. I'm assuming to that your debranding it, so if you are, keep in mind all the branded stuff will be lost two, so if you really like that theme/picture/sound that came on your branded phone, you'll loose it unless you back it up

But that will only happen if I have those files in the phone's internal memory right? if I have them on the memory card, they will still remain there, correct?

Yes sure. Flashing FS will only affect the phone's internal memory, not the memory stick.
You can always pull the memory stick off and flash the phone's FS, after all (obviously it is not a necessary precaution). ;)

Sorry to bump in,but my question is kinda related to this topic.
Can someone tell me where are stored informations about "my devices" (bluetooth) ?
I know that every setting is lost after flashing FS.
    I flashed my phone (d750i) MAIN & FS twice (w800i & k750i),and i still didn't lost "my devices".
They were (and are) still in my phone after whole process.

    Look here:

    Mobile Technology Definitions under Bluetooth.

I think it`s save it to sim card. Correct me, if I`m wrong.

    Nice day
