Possible - yes, but messing with the IMEI is illegal.

Well besides the fact that its illegal um you really can't do it. IMEI are generally programmed into hardware on the phone and only if that specific ROM chip is changed can you change the IMEI.

You cant chang the IMEI technically.. its on the OTP or one time programmable memory. But you can bypass the mechanism that verifies IMEI(GDFS)=IMEI(OTP)
That is what setoll2 does anyways.. but its Illegal :)
