    debranding a cid50 W810i

Hi, I think I know everything I need to debrand my SE W810i.

    Platform: DB2010
    OTP CID: 50
    EROM CID: 50
    EROM Color: Red
    Phone ID: W810
    Region: ROGERS
    CDA: CDA102494/128 R6A
    Firmware Version: R4ED001
    EROM: n/a

I think I would need these:
    W810_R4EA031_MAIN_GENERIC_HN_RED50
    W810_R4ED001_FS_AMERICA_1_RED50

I was thinking of using XS++ to do this, and before I royally brick my phone, I was wondering if I could get any feedback on whether these two firmware pieces are the right ones to choose.

Does it particularly matter what firmware I choose? So long as it's red50 and R4ED001 for the FS firmware, I should be okay right?

Yep there are possiblilities of your phone bricking using XS++ but you can just flash it again.

You are correct about the FS:
    W810_R4ED001_FS_AMERICA_1_RED50

    The MAIN you will need

You will need the same R4ED001 and generic. You can update to CID52 and use the 52 instead of 50.

And you will need the custom files for the languages.

Wait, why do I need to update to CID52? In fact, what is a CID? from what I've gathered I know I shouldn't mix the two.

Also, are the custom packs just language packages? They're theoretically interchangeable right?

cid is level of security, cid:50 is maxium for a w810i it won't update any further i think you have choosen the correct firmware if i remember correctly the w810i uses a different main & fs version, you will need a custpack aswell unless xs++ has one built in for your phone.

Can I substitute my FS firmware for another cid50 one? I haven't yet found W810_R4ED001_FS_AMERICA_1_RED50 (and can't as of yet download it from this site), so I was thinking of substituting it with W810_R4ED001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED50.

    What are you thoughts?
