unlocking my k800i

Hello:) I get all the way to the setools bit with my k800i...but then I have problems applying the vkp patch....which code do I copy out of the generated vkp file?:) Everytime I attempt to use the quick access patch and then 'write script' I connect my phone and then it boots up 'file transfer mode' and the whole process fails :S:S:S

I would really appreciate some help guys! :) cheers Alec

it's because you have no quick access patch applied, so you need to use the db2020 bybass method first you need a fully charged battery, then select the db2020 bybass box, put your main firmware file in the files box, and put the patch in the misc box and press flash.

I did try that......I flashed using an orange MAIN file and the vpk...with bypass enabled. Then I tried the quick patch ...and the phone boots up in file transfer mode just the same :S When I started the phone up I got a configuration file error Alec :O

cant even get a log it wont identefi my phone when i put it in the usb cable :(

so heres what i do to the k800i
i tryed to reapply the unlocking patch to the phone using setool 1.1 but i removed the cable as it wasnt working right so now the phone wont turn on or even let xs++ or setool1.1 read a thing is there any way i can sort this out or is the phone dead

@Ironaulie it's best to use gentric unbranded firmware not branded firmware,
@del12, try connecting to setool2 lite holding down 2+5 instead of C and also does your infra red link blink when you try to turn the phone on.

The EROM can be damaged. Follow this tutorial: REPAIRING EROM GUIDES for most sonyericsson phones
If not the EROM, then maybe the GDFS is corrupted. In this case you need to restore the GDFS backup what you made before trying to flash/patch the phone.

yes mate it worked i read in another thread couldnt belive it when it read the phone
saves my mates phone :)
