guide to install games ?? really funny man

Fine. you want a tutorial, you get a tutorial

First download that game, it will be a .jar file
connect your phone to your computer using data cable
just copy .jar file to phone,
and open the .jar file in phone
it will ask you if you want to install
    then say yes
then wait .. it will take atleast 24 hrs to install ;)
then when installation is done . use it.

Why are you guys making fun? Haven't you ever used a phone that needed hacks to install games? Well, I do... I currently own a Samsung ZV10 and I have to create a folder that already exists but it's invisible in the phone explorer, copy the games to that folder, insert some codes on the phone to get a special menu, perform some actions and only then the games will be installed... I never owned a SE, so I don't know if it needed hacks like this to install games.

So, you are saying that I just have to copy the .jar file to the phone (memory or card), oepn the .jar file in the phone and install it, that's it? Well, a few questions:

    1) Installing the .jar file, will it copy the file to some other place, or it will use that one and install simply adds an entry to the games menu?

    2) Don't I also need to have the .jad file or that is just for the PC emulator?

    3) When installing, how does it know it is a game or an app? Will it go to the correct place in the menu?

P.S: I don't own the S500i yet, I've order it though and I'm not sure if it has a menu for apps and another for games, but I suppose it does...

It will give you two options ( to install it to applications or games - you pick which one ). No, you don`t need .jad file. It will go to place which one you select.

The uploaded JAR file is analyzed to verify if it is an actual Java game/application you can use on your mobile. Based on this JAR file the corresponding JAD file is generated.

The JAD file is only needed if you use the Over-The-Air (OTA) method to download the Java game/application onto your Web/WAP enabled phone.

There are two ways to install a Java application on your mobile phone:

    The direct method.

Download the Java application from the web onto your PC, then upload onto your phone using an USB cable, InfraRed (IR) or Bluetooth connection.
This method only requires the JAR file. The JAD file is NOT needed.

    The Over-The-Air (OTA) method.

The Java application is downloaded onto your mobile by using the WAP or Web browser built into your phone.

    This method requires 2 files:

The .JAR (= Java ARchive) file which contains the actual Java game/application.
The size of this file can be several KBytes or even MBytes.
The .JAD (= Java Application Description) file which is a small text file, containing a few lines of information about the Java game/application. Information such as the JAR file size and the URL where to find the JAR file. The size of this file is usually less then 1KByte.
To install the Java application on your phone:
Open the built-in WAP or Web browser and first download the JAD file.
Based on the information in the JAD file your phone applies several checks, one of which is to verify if it has enough storage space to install the JAR file.
When all checks are performed the JAR file is downloaded onto your phone using the "MIDlet-Jar-URL" attribute specified in the JAD file.
    Nice day

    Remember

Do you have to look for some games in the your mobile screen resolution, like 240x320 or 176x220. Some games only work's in only one resolution.

for an S500i, you can put games at a maximum rezolution of 176x220 because if you put some other resolution, bigger, like 240x320, the game will look in a half of his real rezolution (well, almost a half) and you copy them into usb/others, give them the "Install" button that appears when you select a game and after you select the specified folder to install them (Games or Applications) and voila, brand new game installed.

    Have fun...

How come? The S500i has a resolution of 240x320, why do games with that resolution are displayed in half? It makes no sense...

You should tried to install it bigger ( 240x320 ) and then you will see. I think it must go, because like you said S500i has a resolution of 240x320.

    Nice day

When you download .jar file of application put it in folder "Other" on your phone. Turn on the phone and go to Menu>File Manager>Other. Choose the application and click "Install".
