You can use flash wallpapers on W800 only if you have R1L002 version of firmware. Your phone must be CID 36.

dumb question, but is there a particular folder you need to put the swf files into on a patched w810i ?

No, K-series doesn't support flash (except K850),but you can use gif wallpapers or crossflash your phones into W-series( K750->W800 )
