I bought a phone not knowing it was locked. Sony Ericsson says I need to get it flashed to unlock it, so what I wanna know is there anyway to unlock it that WON'T cost me $135?

They really said that?? I don't think so flashing will unlock your phone. Phone lock is on the other part of memory then software:confused:

If your phone is CID 49 you can patch unlock it yourself (for free).

U only have to unlock it and there's not necessary to re-flash it

Hey guys.I have a w300i. I accidentally loaded the wrong file system (FS) on it and it changed the operator from TIM-ITALY to MEDITERR. And now it does not work any more with my SIM card.When I start the phone the startup menu appears and when I press start phone it says: config error.Contact network operator or service center. I used this file when it changed my operator (W300_R4EA031_FS_MEDITERR_RED49.fbn ).Can someone give me a link so I can download a file system that will change the operator back to TIM-ITALY?? Or tell me what should I do to fix it .Thanx!

I'm quite illiterate so is there anyway to dumb it down for me, I have no idea how to check if it's CID 49.. or how to do the code thing.

Yes it's CID 49. but I don't know where I can get the patch to unlock it. I have to wait 2 months to be able to download from here.

I can't say i know how to unlock a phone but i can tell you where you can get one unlocked - could be they'd hgive you a code or maybe you could sell your pphone and just buy an unlocked version? It was at Sony Ericsson W300i

You can find out the CID of your phone when you connect it to XS++, just have a look at my tutorial for further instructions on how to install/use XS++.
The patches have to be copypasted in a textfile and the textfile has to be renamed from .txt to .vkp
