    toilet woes

I dropped my W810i into some ..uh.. water and quickly pulled the battery and sim card out and blew it out as good as I could with an air hose. Next day I tried it and everything seemed to work OK, except it wouldn't recognize any memory sticks. I called SE and they said I needed to run their update service. I did that & the display quit working????? (I can see it if I shine a bright light on it). Is there possibly any hope for it or am I out of luck? (please bear in mind I'm a newby when it comes to working on a cell phone) Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

If by any chance you drop the phone in liquid .. it need to be taken to a service so it could be cleaned .. they put some "oil" on the mainboard and on the connectors so they do not rust.

I strongly recommend you to visit a mobile service ASAP. A friend dropped an old samsung and after 1h she took it to a service and its working.

If it has been more than 12h since it dropped, I`m afraid you are out of luck :(

    Sorry

I was actually sitting there attempting to turn it off when it slipped.

My main question is, how can a software update kill the display?

Software didn`t kill your phone. It was hardware manfuncion, because of moisture.
Take it to service center, if they can anything do.

    Nice day
