What are REST files in Setool 2 Lite?

with no disrespect to simox. i don't think you are right. i just tested identify w580i without the rest file folder using setool lite. there is no problem.
in full version. if rest file is not present when doing unlocking. then the phone need to be fully flashed to compensate the rest file.

I wasn't clear enough, sorry. It is right for DB2010 CID49 phnes, but W580 is a DB2020

Looks like setool lite CAN be used for unlocking so far...:cool:

YEah, he's sure. This is unlock by patch. When you flash it, it gone. So it actually doesn't unlock forever.

I'd say (if I understood things right) when you flash your handset again, you just generate a NEW .vkp file and bingo! it's unlocked again.

Yes, you are right ( but only with the same version that you have main firmware ).
