message without sender's number

Today i received message on my mobile without any details like the sender's number etc. How is it possible. Can somebody throw some light how this is possible? Can we also send messages without disclosing our numbers?;)

i don't think that's possible. when your phone says that the sms is sent, the sms goes to the network provider and from the network provider to the sender. your sms is sent with your phone number by default.

hi, it is called anymous sms, many web server give it for free, but not forever you must buy the credit, for example visit smscity.com or mobix.com or other web which have this service

i tried some of those and the sms was sent with the number i chose and also some ads where sent with em which makes your sms shorter

Look about 2-3 months back I read somewhere that you can send a SMS by email-program ( I don`t know more which one ). You got message without sender's number.

well, i discovered a method accidentally by type G@y ur message then i just send it out to my friend w810. and when he receive the message, the display name is G@y and the message display, try it and tell me hahahah
