    Read This:

Common errors with PhoneXS/XS++, A FAQ about PhoneXS (XS++) - Top Sony Forums

When I turn on my phone, there is a 'Configuration Error'

This happens when you either didn't finalize your phone or your custom pack (finalization files) do not match your FS files. Double check your files, do they match? If you have a EU_4 FS, you need a EU_4 custom pack. Did you check 'Customize File System'? You must finalize/customize or you will not be able to use your phone. (-Thanks wacko101 and EvoLifE)

    Look here:

    Erom

But why change it to brown.

BLUE/BROWN/RED:This "color" defines what kind of phone we are dealing with.BLUE phones has been assembled at the factory, but never been programmed with software/GDFS/IMEI (remember kids: the IMEI is stored in the OTP (One Time Programmable memory))BROWN phones are "developer phones", for testing. Less restrictions are present, as these are used for "debugging/beta" purposes. As of CID36, a phone has to be converted to BROWN to unlock it.RED phones are your typical retail ones.

    Nice day

    Wow.

    Lucky you were.
I bought on Ebay a K800i branded on SFR France.
NORMALLY they are supposed to give the unlock code after 6 months.
So I first got all the vendor's personal data and called SFR.
Who first told me, considering the IMEI, the phone was too recent and I should wait 2-3 weeks.
OK, 3 weeks after I called again. Here I got the reply they just COULD NOT get the @#*! unlock code and I should send the phone to some company in the North of France (I do live in Paris) with a copy of the ORIGINAL invoice for the phone. Which is of course long lost and foregone !!!

So that's why I'm here and have the pleasure of being one of this forum.. :D

and BTW as I'm a newcomer on mobile phones (not really on computers nor on the Internet... ) if anyone can help me with my lil' problem...

I'd like to get rid of the awful Vodaf*** portal too (debranding that's called I think? I'm a fast learner tooo.... :p)

    Rgds to all.

Actually I did browse a little bit around the web before comin' in here, and I did lay hands on a software called XS++ which told me my SUPERB K800i was DB2020 (omg !) and CID51.

AND I did read somewhere I was possible to unlock, debrand and what you like those phones for free. In fact, when I launched XS++, it proposed me to 'convert' the phone to CID52.

As I don't know (for the moment...) of what use this might be, I didn't do nothing...

Waiting for your competent advices !!!
