Re: Disassemble a Sony Ericsson Mobile Phone

Everything I've seen so far is only recplacing the LCD screen. Are there any written instructions, with photos, for disassembling and replacing the housing on a Sony Ericcson W580i? I purchased a new housing cover, but it didn't come with instructions, and I'm no good trying to follow U-Tube videos.

Re: Disassemble a Sony Ericsson Mobile Phone

If housing is ok(slide) you can change only covers, front and back.It is very hard to change complete housing and covers on it so i recommend you to take it to some private repair shop although they don't like to do that but maybe you will find someone who is willing to replace it.
If you will open back cover be careful, there is bluetoth antena and power button......
In short you need big expirience to be able to do that.
    Good luck

I had K800i, which was easy to open, and changed to K810i, on which some buttoms failed (Right soft key). I tried getting in to have a look, but couldn't wwithout risking damage and warranty void, so I gave up and just returned it. I'm wondering what the trick is to it. I now have a new K800i again. I noticed the open a k800i, but not K810.

Have recently been given a w910i that has been the victim of a violent assault by the owners girlfriend (Fair play they know just how to hurt u the most). Phone has been snapped in two but miraculassly no internal damage just needs new housing and couple bits and pieces but I cant find one anywhere the most information I can find is that a w580i case is 'compatible' any help much appreciated. P.s how compatible is a an s500?

thx justme, I had a look at that, its much the same as K800 so, I did not want to risk a 'snap!' so I returned it. I loved the number buttons, but I still didn't like the soft buttons around the joystick, I'll stick with a K800i for now.
